Grafica Creative Studio is about bringing my passion for design together with my family business of printing.
My story
I’m Roberto, and my love for printing and design started in my Dad's little print shop back in Brazil, in the early 90's. He used beautiful old letterpress machines and I have such happy memories of playing around him while he was working, I still remember the smell of the paper, inks and the sounds of the machines in action.
Grafica Creative Studio is about bringing my passion for graphic design and illustration together with my family business of printing.
I’m so excited to keep this old profession alive and pass forward the knowledge through our printing workshops and making beautiful printing using and preserving these vintage machines.
I love being part of the creative culture and buzz here in Brisbane and getting to collaborate with my clients and other creative services.
the Studio
From 60 to 120 years old, our vintage printing machines are in their golden years but built to last. Fully restored to pristine condition, the Chandler & Price press is dedicated to specialty small print runs, while our smaller desktop Craftsmen press is reserved for workshop guests, giving them the hands-on experience of creating their own invitations, cards, and artworks.
The latest addition to our studio is the Heidelberg Windmill press, an icon of printing history. With its hot foil capability, precision, speed, and automatic paper feeding, it allows us to deliver even higher-quality results while making production more efficient and cost-effective.
All photopolymer plates are produced in-house to guarantee perfect impressions and the luxurious, tactile feel that makes letterpress so distinctive. Every ink is mixed by hand to achieve the ideal shade, and each sheet is fed, printed, and finished through a careful artisanal process, one by one, color by color ensuring every piece is as unique as it is beautiful..
